To be properly prepared for covid-19 we need a state health system that is top notch and in an isolated wealthy state spending over 9 Billion a year we should be able to manage much better than we are.
The Health Minister Roger Cook and the Director General are nice people – good survivors politically – but they must deliver on the ground where it matters & that is tough in such a huge system with entrenched bureaucracy & distributed responsibility.
I agree, the wards are over crowded, patients are sick and no beds. Nurses are stretched to the max everyday at SCGH, but management don’t roll up there sleeves to lend a hand. Shameful really when most are nurses doing office work for obvious reasons. Morale is low,
